The scope of this project was to redesign the dark private elevator lobby, interior entry foyer and dining room area of a private highrise condominium. The owner wanted to open up the segmented spaces by removing existing interior walls and enhance the living and dining room areas. Our suggestions included opening the entry foyer wall so as you entered the condominium you could see the adjacent dining room space and the southern view of the city and nearby beach beyond. The wall between the living room and dining room was also opened up to allow move open space throughout the living area. The open plan allowed full views from the Atlantic ocean to the east and the intracoastal waterway to the west. We removed the entry closets that flanked the single entry door in the entry foyer and designed a new double door for entry into the condominium. We used wood finishes and new lighting to create a warm atmosphere. The overall goal was to enhance the space and work within the owner’s defined budget.
