We were originally retained to provide architectural services for initial renovation of the second floor and partial first floor of this 18,000 s.f. office building in Ft. Lauderdale. The building was built in the early 1970’s and was in need of extensive work. The building housed a U.S. Post office on the ground floor. The complete second floor was stripped down to the building shell and rebuilt to accommodate the new law offices of McIntosh, Sawran Peltz & Cartaya. The renovation included new offices, break room, library, conference rooms, support staff stations, reception area and complete air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems.
Two years later we were retained to provide design and construction services for the remaining 5,000 s.f. of the ground floor for the office expansion of the law firm. The space was stripped down to the shell and rebuilt to carry on the design concept of the second floor.
A year later we were retained to renovate the complete exterior of the building. The renovation incorporated the installation of new impact resistant windows around the complete building including the two story street entrance feature. The exterior finsihes included new stucco work, tile features and new parking resurfacing. All the work was completed while the law firm conducted their daily business.
The city of Ft. Lauderdale recognized the renovation in 2002 with a Community Appearance award for the best office building renovation category.
